What is PIKE on a Bike?
From November 2 to November 8, 2024, the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) at the University of Colorado Boulder will embark on a powerful mission: riding a stationary bike for 8,423 minutes, with each minute symbolizing one of the cyclists and pedestrians tragically killed by drivers in 2023. The event, known as "PIKE on a Bike," will begin on Saturday, November 2 at 5:05 PM and conclude on Friday, November 8 at 12:28 PM, the exact time of day when Magnus White was struck and killed by a driver in 2023. This pledge-driven event aims to raise $100,000 to support The White Line Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving road safety through behavior change and advocating for legislative reforms.

About PIKE: Our Mission and Partnership
Pi Kappa Alpha, also known as PIKE, is an international fraternity and we are proud to be the Beta Upsilon chapter here at CU Boulder. We’ve partnered with The White Line Foundation to create "PIKE on a Bike," a philanthropy event aimed at raising $100,000 to support their efforts in advocating for cyclist and pedestrian safety and pushing for critical legislative reforms. The idea became both feasible and impactful thanks to the dedication and size of our brotherhood. This collaboration was inspired by PIKE brothers Gavin and Graydon Abel, who were close friends and teammates of Magnus White, whose legacy motivated this joint initiative.
About The White Line
The White Line exists because Magnus White’s life was stolen by a reckless driver. We are the new voice for change, born from tragedy and fueled by urgency. Our mission is clear: honor Magnus' legacy by transforming how drivers behave around cyclists and pedestrians. Behavior change is immediate and effective. We're not asking nicely. We're making change today.
We cannot afford to sit back and hope for slow policy changes or long-term infrastructure improvements. People are dying now, and we need to act now. No apologies. No more stolen lives. No more shattered families. We're committed to making the roads safer today.
